Term & Conditions

By making a booking, clients confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted the following terms and conditions, which are also available upon request.

  1. Indemnity

While all reasonable care is taken to ensure the safety and comfort of your cat, Blaauwklippen Cattery, its proprietors, and staff accept no liability for illness, injury, escape, or loss during your cat’s stay. Any veterinary bills resulting from such incidents are the owner’s responsibility. We also assume no liability for personal injuries or damage to vehicles on the property.

  1. Booking & Payment Conditions

  1. We reserve the right to refuse cats that do not meet our health or temperament requirements.

  2. Cats over 6 months must be sterilised. Proof may be requested.

  3. Kittens under 8 months are accepted unsterilised.

  4. Full payment is required in advance via EFT.

  5. A 50% deposit must be received within 48 hours of booking request to confirm the reservation.

  6. The full balance is due no later than check-in.

  7. If you wish to extend your booking, please notify us in advance. Extensions are subject to availability.

  8. Extras incurred during your cat’s stay will be billed and must be settled before departure.

  9. No cats will be released without full payment.

  10. There is a minimum booking requirement of 4 days.

  11. No refunds are offered for early collections.

  12. Owners are responsible for checking that all belongings (e.g. blankets, toys) are collected at departure.

  13. Prices are subject to change and may vary during peak periods.

  1. Cancellations & Refunds

  1. All booked dates are chargeable.

  2. No refunds are provided for cancellations.

  3. The proprietor reserves the right to make exceptions in extenuating circumstances.

  1. Long-Term Stays (30 Days or More)

  1. A long-term boarding agreement must be signed, outlining payment terms.

  2. One month’s boarding fee is due 7 days before arrival and monthly thereafter.

  3. If the owner cannot be contacted during the stay, full payment is required in advance.

  4. Failure to meet payment terms may result in the removal of the cat(s).

  1. Health & Vaccination Requirements

  1. No cat will be accepted without valid vaccination certificates (within the last 12 months).

  2. Vaccinations must be done at least 21 days prior to check-in—no exceptions.

  3. If your cat’s vaccinations are outdated, our in-house vet (Dr. M.C. Franklin) will administer them at your cost, including travel.

  4. Despite our health protocols, viruses such as Snuffles can still be carried into the cattery. Speak to your vet about preventative remedies such as Eco-Vet Snuffles.

  1. Flea & Deworming Policy

  1. All cats must be flea-free and dewormed before check-in.

  2. We recommend a reliable parasite program and treatment shortly before arrival.

  3. Spot checks will be conducted upon arrival.

  4. If treatment is needed, it will be administered at the owner’s cost with an added administration fee.

  5. Cats may be quarantined until treatment is confirmed.

  1. Strictly by appointment only

  2. Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM / 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM

  3. Saturday: By appointment only

  4. Sunday & Public Holidays: Closed

  6. Please do not park in front of the gate or driveway

  7. Drive slowly—other animals live on the property

  1. Accommodation & Amenities

We offer a selection of luxury suites designed for feline comfort, each tailored to suit different needs and personalities. Some suites include outdoor balconies, garden access, or window boxes for safe enrichment and fresh air.

As part of your cat’s stay, we provide essential amenities to ensure their comfort and well-being, including:

  1. Soft blankets and bedding

  2. Food and water bowls

  3. Litter boxes suited to your cat’s preferences

  4. Scratch patches and a selection of toys for enrichment

  5. Water fountains in select suites

  6. Clients are welcome to bring personal items, such as blankets or toys, for added comfort

  1. Rates

  1. Weekday Rate: From R130 per cat per day (for stays over 5 days)

  2. Weekend Rate: R150 per day (Friday to Monday)

  3. Christmas Peak Rate: R150 – R200 per day, depending on suite type

  4. All visits, drop-offs, and collections are by appointment only

  5. Please notify us of any delays in arrival

  6. No cat will be released without a secure travel box

  7. We do not store travel bags due to hygiene and space restrictions

  8. Once a cat is released to the owner, we are no longer responsible for escapes or incidents during transport

  9. Children under 12 must be supervised at all times

  10. A maximum of two people are allowed in the cattery during drop-off/collection

  1. Abandonment Policy

a. If a cat is not collected within 14 days of the booking end date and no contact is made, the cat may be rehomed or surrendered to the SPCA under the Abandonment Act.

  1. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a booking, the client confirms agreement to all terms and conditions listed above.
